Simeon Agu has devoted the past 38 years to working in the IT Industry. He started his career with Shell in Nigeria and later moved to the National Electric Power Authority in 1977 as Director of Computer Services. Mr. Agu set up Nigeria's first and largest software company in 1984 and shortly after concentrated the company's activities in the banking sector first as the distributor of Kapiti Ltd., in which 7 banks were implemented in 2 years. After partnering with Phoenix International(USA), Computer Systems Associates built Smartbank, a Cobol based solution that sold to 10 banks, all in Nigeria. The Phoenix partnership eventually led to the Equinox Banking System and establishment of Neptune Software Group. Mr. Agu is a 1970 graduate in Electrical Engineering and holds a Post Graduate Diploma in Accounting and Finance and the Fellowship of the Nigeria Computer Society.
